How Irregular Life Can Be

Since the first full week of January, I’ve been attempting to really get my housework/schoolwork/life on track. You know, really take dominion of my domain: get up on time, eat right, keep the house clean, do school with the boys every day, and that sort of thing. I’ve enlisted my friend Mystie as an accountability partner, and her help is invaluable, but the resulting much better idea of how I’m doing at actually accomplishing my goals has been enlightening.\par

It’s been 7 full weeks since the beginning of the New Year. The first week was great. By the end of the week I felt like a pro, had gotten up on time 4 out of 5 times and I was looking forward to great things in 2009! The second week Monica got sick, and her sickness and resulting sleeplessness contributed to my sickness and sleeplessness and a less-than-on-track week. The third week Michael had gall-bladder surgery and was home most of the week. Also not an on-track week. The fourth week Monica was sick again. The fifth week I was out of town on my yearly February trip to my folks while Michael travels to Bend for a business trip. The sixth week should’ve been good, but there were more social activities than usual and my vague recollection was that I worked hard all week and felt behind the entire time. This, the seventh week, has been the worst yet with\’c2\~Judah came down with a nasty cough in the middle of Monday night, Ezra with same on Wednesday night, and Monica started coughing last night, all of which contributed to a lousy week in terms of regularity of schedule and in terms of hours slept (by me)!\par

So, seven weeks and only one “regular” staying-on-track one yet. I’m finally really beginning to understand why they say life with really little kids is crazy!

Maybe you need to reevaluated what “on track” means right now. :) The tracks might just be a little bumpier at this stage in life than you’re envisioning. Although it sounds as if you’ve have a lot of sickness to deal with lately. Hope the kids are well soon, and that you get some rest!
