Those of you who live in Oregon, love books, and have occasion to listen to books on tape might be interested in Library 2 Go, an online audiobook library that allows library card holders from member libraries to “check out” digital copies of audiobooks to their own computers.\’c2\~I “borrowed” Great Expectations\’c2\~\’c2\~\’c2\~from said library and\’c2\~the whole seems to work very smoothly. My\’c2\~problem is that my computer is downstairs while I’m upstairs, but maybe the books can be copied to CD – I’m not sure. Still it’s a neat feature, and those of you who have a computer in their main living space might get some use out of it. There are other libraries who’s members have access to the same online library, so it’s not just Clackamas Country Library members. The Mid-Columbia Library system is not listed, but maybe there are other such things out there. Just a thought.

Our library system (Timberland Regional) in Olympia has this same thing, same software etc. I love it and am constantly borrowing “books” and putting them on my MP3 player to listen to at work. But the Oregon site has a completely different selection of books. I wish I could use this site too, as I have already pretty well exhausted the good stuff from my site!!
Alas, It won’t work with an ipod… PLEECH!!!!!!! \par

Have you tried librivox.com? they have free mp3 books that are in the public domain, ie classics! Somehow, when I have a book to listen to, the chores get done faster..
