Yes, I know it’s been rather dull on my blog lately. Not that I usually have fascinating things to record, but lately I’ve either been busy, or unable to think of things to blog about.\par

One thing I don’t think I commented on at the time was about Michael and the boy’s trip to the beach on the 4th of July weekend. The boys had a fabulous time, and the adults survived, but you know who really had a blast? Yep, me! I was home alone all weekend with just the baby (and Rosanne, sporadically). I went to the 4th of July party at the Wilsons and stayed ’til 10:00, and then went shopping ALL DAY on Saturday, a fate I would normally shudder at, but that was made enjoyable by having an agreeable shopping companion in the form of another nursing mom, Rachel. We were at the mall from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but between the long stays in the ladies’ lounge at Nordstroms, and the taking turns with the kids, and the leisurely lunch, we really didn’t do that much shopping, but I still found some new clothes that I’m very happy with! I looked all over the mall for a pair of white pants that fit nicely and weren’t too expensive and couldn’t fine any. Then, after I got home in the evening, I had to go out again, so I stopped at Goodwill, also unusual, tried on 6 pairs of white pants and found a pair that were exactly what I wanted, still in good condition, and only $6.99! Ah, yes, a good weekend indeed!\par

This last weekend was very busy, as well. Friday the kids and I and Rose went raspberry picking at a farm in Canby, so that I could use the fresh raspberries to make some raspberry-chocolate scones that I found a recipe for online. The scones were for the church picnic at Champoeg State Park on Saturday. The picnic went well – I’ll post a picture at a later date of Judah and Ezra providing squirt gun fire for an obstacle course early on in the picnic. The boys had a blast, of course. Judah’s old enough to be somewhat autonomous in those surroundings and he had the added bonus of being able to ride on a couple of electronic cars, brought by another family from church. He thought he’d died and gone to heaven. Monica however hardly slept all afternoon, so by the end of the day I was pretty tired and very ready to go home. There was a lot of sitting around talking, and Michael got to play volleyball for a while as well, when he wasn’t throwing whiffle balls for little boys and such.\par

Sunday we had church, and then our Third Sunday of the Month Fellowship groups (also known affectionately as “Forced Fellowship.”). As luck would have it, we were at the house of a family we had just visited the previous week, so it was kind of a deja-vu sort of afternoon. Only this Sunday it wasn’t nearly so hot, so the house and porch were more comfortable.\par

I had to cook things for all three events this weekend in addition to packing for picnics, and preparing for church. \’c2\~Needless to say, by Monday, things had pretty much completely fallen apart around here, and I’m still trying to catch up.\par

Oh, last night I got to go play Dutch Blitz with the ladies again! It was fun to be back – I haven’t been since the day I was due with Monica. I brought “herself” with me, of course, and she surprised me by sleeping almost the whole time and allowing me to play the whole evening!\’c2\~ This goes to show that no stage lasts forever. Praise God!\par

Well, that’s all for now. I should get ready for bed: Monica’s sleeping extremely well these days, but I’ve been getting up at 6:00, thanks to a little help from Mystie, so I have to try to be good about getting to bed at a decent hour, especially when the baby’s asleep (which she obviously is, or I wouldn’t be down here typing this up!).
