I should wait until 6 weeks, but I have time to write, right now.\’c2\~\par

What is there to say? She’s sleeping reasonably well. Some nights she wakes up twice, and once she’s slept for 6 1/2 hours straight! That was a happy day! But really she’s sleeping well for a very wee one, I think. She seems to need to eat about every 3 hours, which works for me! I’m attempting to get her onto a 3-hour schedule that works well with the rest of our life; especially eating dinner and going to bed at\par

a reasonable hour. So far, she’s been kind of a late night baby, only going down for good around 10:30 or 11:00, which is kind of late. Especially as she spends the whole two hours before that fussing, pretending to go to sleep, then waking up again to surprise me! So this morning my plan was to wake her up at 5:00, feed her, and go back to sleep, with the hope that she would then eat at 8, 11, 2, 5, 8, and then whenever she wakes up at night. But she woke up hungry at 4:00, which I thought would ruin the plan for the day. However, she then went back to sleep and I had to wake her up at 8:00 to feed her, so we were back on schedule! Then she pretty much stuck to the above schedule, only eating at 7:30 instead of 8, which worked out nicely because I was done in time to help put the boys to bed. We’ll see how tonight goes.\par

She usually has a fussy period in the evening, except for the last two evenings when she mysteriously has been pretty placid and calm most of the evening: last night she even slept most of the evening.\par
\par
She has funny hair: It feels soft to me, but it is determined to stick up at all times. I’ll insert a couple of pictures that shows both how it normally looks, and an attempt by myself to reign it in with a bunch of little barrettes. I brush it down after I wash it, and as soon as it dries it’s right back going in all directions!\par

I haven’t noticed many boy/girl differences, yet. I have noticed that she seems to be becoming more like Judah in terms of wanting to be held most of the time, and not sitting quietly, either: she wants to be jiggled, bounced, rocked, and otherwise kept moving at all times! However, she does just lay quietly on a flat surface and look around sometimes like Ezra used to do as well. Also, I’m pretty positive that the boys both were into being held so they could stand up on things, and Monica seems disinterested in standing as a general rule. You try to stand her up and she just folds her legs under and looks up at the sky. I put her in the exersaucer today and she seemed entirely unenethused; in fact rather put out, I’d have to say!\par

But she seems to be being inserted into our lives quite well so far. Today was a great day: while she was napping, I actually cleaned my sink and finished all of the handwashing that had been stacking up over the last few days! It felt like a great victory, though as I walked around this evening I was reminded that there’s still a long way to go to just get caught up – we’re not even entirely unpacked from Camp yet!!

She’s just beautiful, Elly!! It was so good to see you (and interact a bit, too
