I’m writing now, now because I have nothing to do, but because I have so many things to do that I don’t know where to jump first! Tomorrow night (yikes, tomorrow!) Michael’s having a birthday party for me at our house. This is sweet and wonderful of him, only it’s at OUR HOUSE, which necessitates cleaning it up first. That would be big enough, but the next day, after church, we’re leaving for Family Camp for a week, preparing for said event being no small feat in and of itself. I’m looking forward to the party, especially as my parents and my sister will be able to attend, since they’re coming for Camp, but I’m a little nervous about getting everything done in time. And here I am writing a blog post!\par

Anyway, for an update: Monica is sweet and loveable and beautiful and charming, and we are all very attached to her. The boys dote on her and her father is definitely not immune to her charms. And this at two weeks old!
Her two week appointment was on Wednesday, and she had gained 1 pound over her birthweight, now weighing in at 8 pounds 5 ounces. Healthy growth, but not astounding – not like Ezra’s 2 pounds in his first two weeks! In fact, she now weighs as much as Ezra did at birth. She’s moving up to the 75% for length and riding the 50% for weight. Although her features resemble Judah’s, her temperment is so far more like Ezra’s: when she had the PKU test, which I hate, she cried when her foot was poked but delighted my soul by drowsing through the whole rest of the test like Ezra did, rather than screaming the entire time like Judah. She’s sleeping well, generally only waking up 2-3 times a night, sometimes going for 4 hours between night-time feedings! Her waking/sleeping/eating patterns for the daytime are still very fluid. Generally she’s awake for an hour or so at a time about twice a day; once in the evening, and once at some other random time of day. She’s a real spitter, I’m afraid, just like her big brothers were. She doesn’t smile yet, except in her sleep, but I’m eagerly anticipating the day when she starts!\par

We had the flu this week, along with nearly every other family at church. Only Michael and Monica didn’t get it, although Monica has been unusually fussy and productive of spitup today, so I’m wondering if she’s suffering a mild case. But it’s been 3 1/2 days since I had it, so I wouldn’t think so… who knows. I’m keeping an eye on her, of course. Anyway, Judah and I were vomiting Monday night, and Ezra seemed fine except for a case diarhea. What with nausea, vomiting, waking up to feed the baby, and helping clean up after Judah vomiting (Michael did most of it) it was not a very fun night! We spent all Tuesday recuperating. Michael stayed home for a while in the morning, but went in to work around 9:00 – he’s swamped at work right now of course trying to get some things done before leaving for a week. He’s been working late or bringing work home most of the week, feeling bad all the time for not being home, especially when we were sick, and worrying about getting everything done for the party and for Family Camp in addition. That kind of stress would just overwhelm and overcome me, I think, but he manages the strain pretty well – it’s a good thing some people are more hardy than others!\par

Well, I’d better go advance the laundry so that we can have clean clothes to pack! I also need to make church food, pick up the house, clean the bathroom, and vacuum the floors… and a few other things.
Oh well, what doesn’t get done, doesn’t get done, and it won’t be the end of the world!
