Still Here

Well… I’m still here. At Home. No Baby. No contractions. Nothing much to do, since this week has been blocked off for, well, having a baby. I’m not technically due until tomorrow, but Judah was 3 days early, and Ezra was 2 days early and I admit, I was hoping for a weekend birth and now I’m rather disappointed.\par

On the plus side, Michael’s been off work since last Wednesday, so I’ve been able to go out all by myself a lot lately! I think I went out by myself Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! And Saturday night Michael and I went out for ice-cream, after the boys were in bed, since Rose was staying home that evening. So it’s been pretty pleasant, really, and I’m actually feeling reasonably well, for someone who’s nine month’s pregnant. But still, the constant uncertainty is gnawing on my mind, and the knowledge that if this baby ended up being very late that Michael’s plan to take off 2-3 weeks will be somewhat wasted as far as him being home to help with the baby after the delivery is concerned. He only has this week, and some of next week left.\par

Judah is\’c2\~rather disgusted with how long this whole baby thing takes. Several times in the last few days he’s commented, “This baby is taking a LONG time!” in a tone of great irritation. Then he told me that “other people’s babies don’t take this long.” He’s also a little confused by Daddy being home for so long. He came in this morning and asked what day it was. I told him it was Monday. Then he asked if Dad was going to go to work, and I said no, but he started to argue with me that Dad goes to work on Mondays, and didn’t seem to understand the whole “Dad’s on vacation” thing at all. If not today, then he thought that surely tomorrow\’c2\~Daddy would\’c2\~go to work..\’c2\~He seemed to find it rather unsettling to have such a departure from normal routine!\par

Well… I haven’t had my coffee today. Maybe I’ll go make my mocha and then.. oh, make bread or something!
