Late Night

It’s nearly 11:00. Michael is out of town until tomorrow night, and as I usually do when he’s gone, I’m wasting time on the internet. Doing what? Why looking up all of the actors in Casino Royale of course and seeing what else they’ve been in. What could be more reasonable?\par

We went to Walmart today and Judah bought a Hotwheels car carrier with his savings. He is quite pleased with himself and anxious to tell anybody available how big it is, and how many cars it will hold. (lots) Ezra bought two candybars, and is equally pleased with his purchase. One of them is already gone, but that doesn’t seem to bother him.\par

I finally just went out and cultivated my little garden bed (2 ft x 4 ft, approximately) last Saturday and planted basil, from seed, outside. I’m really, really hoping that this works. I dug it up, pulled out the grass, dug in some compost, planted the seeds and watered the bed. I don’t know if the outside temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees at night, is all. I hope so. Needless to say, I was a sore and tired puppy that afternoon!\par

38 weeks tomorrow. I’m feeling good – even reasonably agile. But I still want to have this baby soon. Soon is good, now would be better. Of course, Michael is out of town right now, so perhaps now wouldn’t be so good – but I’m at the point where I barely care anymore. You know, “well, it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I went into labor tonight, we’d manage somehow….” Unlikely, at any rate, so nobody should worry. \’c3\’82\’c2\~I don’t think I have any chance of being two whole weeks early – however delightful that idea may sound!\par

I had a lovely baby shower last Thursday. I got so many adorable little baby girl clothes, along with a lovely embroidered quilt from my mother-in-law, and a generous Michael’s gift certificate to use to buy supplies for Monica’s baby album. And let’s not forget the Complete Firefly Series from my sister-in-law, Abigail! :-) Anyway, it was lots of fun, and I’ve enjoyed going through the clothes and seeing what I have in what sizes and preparing to wash all of the new ones before wear, as instructed on the labels. Now I’m agonizing over whether or not I should wash all of them – after all, what if this little baby isn’t a girl!! Then what would I do with all of these once-washed girl clothes?!! I know, I know, a little late to begin worrying about that – especially since I already detagged and unpackaged all of them anyway! I’ll do it tomorrow.\par

Concerning the ants: they seem to be suffering a major setback. I don’t think I’ve seen any upstairs today. I was feeling very triumphant, until one started crawling up my computer screen a couple minutes ago. We’ll hope that was just a chance event, not to be repeated. Nevertheless, it makes me feel like going and taking a shower, which was what I was planning on doing hours ago, anyway. So, goodnight!
