That’s right, I’m home from visiting my parents in Eastern Washington for a 4-night stay last week. “Tuesday through Saturday” sounds like a long time, but the time went very quickly with lots of things packed into what seemed like a few short days! We met all of our goals: the boys got some good Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt KD time, Michael got a chance to work unhampered by guilt over missing his kids for a week (we weren’t there, so he couldn’t see us even if he hadn’t been working 16-hour days), I got to spend time with my family and visit with my Tri-Cities friends, and this largely pregnant lady got a break from cooking and cleaning for most of a week! I also, and this is less important perhaps, got to see the new Stargate SG1 DVD movie The Ark of Truth and Disney’s Enchanted, both of which I enjoyed.\par

I drove home Saturday, stopping at the Memaloose rest area, where we fed some Captain Crunch cereal to some eager squirrels, much to the boy’s delight. We also stopped at Multnomah Falls and walked up to where we could see the waterfall. The boys wanted to hike up to the bridge, but oddly enough I didn’t feel like it.\par
