They came, they saw, they conquered… I hope. Anyway, the exterminator guys came Friday and did a perimeter spray, sprayed inside the infected cupboards, spot-treated along baseboards throughout the house, and left ant-bait behind the outlets so that the ants would take it back to their homes, without me having ants swarming all over bait on the kitchen counter! They said it could take up to 30 days for the treatment to be entirely successful though, so we won’t know for sure if it’s been effective for a while. I’ve seen quite a few ants since they left, but not generally in the kitchen and not generally very healthy-looking ants -a lot of times they stagger around a little and then die.\’c3\’82\’c2\~And\’c3\’82\’c2\~no ants on my person!\’c3\’82\’c2\~\par

I had to pull all of the stuff/junk out of all of the cupboards where I’d seen ant activity (and any others I especially wanted protected) before they came though. Then I figured I’d better vacuum all of those cupboards and closets as long as they were cleared out. Then I had been planning on being out of the house for the recommended 3 hours (according to the lady on the phone – the guys themselves said we didn’t need to leave at all) by going to Walmart and Winco. So I did. When I got home I had to fix the kitchen sink, which had providentially started leaking yesterday morning. At first, when I saw it dripping I thought “When it rains it pours” but then I realized that it was much nicer working inside a cleaned out, ant-free under-sink cupboard than a filthy, crumby, nasty-smelling\’c3\’82\’c2\~ant-infested under-sink cupboard. Fortunately, I was able to fix the sink. By the time I had fixed the sink, made some sort of dinner for my family, gotten the kids put to bed and replaced most of the stuff from the cupboards, I was one tired 6-month pregnant lady.
