Let’s see. New developments:\par

- Michael is on a diet plan during tax season, which necessitates a different style of cooking. I only have to provide him one meal a day, but that has to be a lean and green, which implies a chunk of meat and massive quantities of vegetables. I seldom cook pieces of meat, other than chicken thighs, so this has been a new adventure. But hey, if we have to eat steak, pork chops, salmon, marinated broiled chicken, etc. all the time, I guess we’ll suffer through it!
- Rosanne’s friend, Ammy, will be coming to live with us in a couple of weeks. She’s lived in our area before, moved back to her home town and is now moving here again, this time taking up residence in our basement. Now that there will be a regular resident in the guest-room, we’re having a water-damage expert come into make sure that the room is safe in terms of mold, mildew, etc. We might have to re-carpet. Hooray! Maybe he can look at the downstairs bathroom, too…

That’s it really. My early-rising plan is going well so far. I did decide that the Tuesday after card night would NOT be an early rising day, as I don’t want to go to bed at 11:30 and get up at 6:00 unless there’s a really good reason to do so. There isn’t. Fortunately, that’s only every other Tuesday, so that shouldn’t mess me up too much. Saturdays and Sundays also are exempt, although I’m going to try to get up at 7:00 on Sundays so that we can make it to church in time for the singing practice at 9:30.\par

My friend Mystie is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first little girl, and I have been checking my blogs several times a day in hopes of the blessed event being announced. My sympathies are with her as God seems to have decided to drag the whole process out longer than usual.\par

Part of my goal for tax season is to do school with Judah 5 days a week in the hopes that more regular consistent practice will jumpstart his reading. He seems to be really getting the mechanics of it a little better. He’s been sounding out three letter words forever, it seems like, but slowly and painfully. Maddenly slowly and painfully. Now he’s finally getting to the part where he’s reading his short a sound words smoothly. I hope for great things in the next several months! I’m using the Victory Drill Book that my friend Alice lent me. It seems to help Judah, and gives me a definite goal (20 words per minute before we can turn the page!)\par

Well, updating my blog is NOT on my list of things to do today, so I suppose I had really better get back to something more productive! (thought I think a record of our family history is a good thing to do – just not the most important thing today)
