Weekend

We had a busy weekend, as is usual. Michael got home from Chicago (he was gone for two nights)\’c3\’82\’c2\~late Friday night. On Saturday he was home in the morning, then Rose watched the boys while we went to a wedding for one of his coworkers. The ceremony was fairly normal except for the absence of a ring exchange ceremony. Apparently this group doesn’t believe in jewelry, although the groom was allowed to buy the bride a beautiful bejeweled watch. Watches are exempt apparently. I thought that would be too bad not to be able to wear jewelry… I’m rather into jewelry myself, after all!!!! After the wedding we stayed for a little while at the reception (they had a candy bar at the reception!! And no alcohol) then Michael went to work and I went grocery shopping. Saturday morning Michael asked if we should have people over on Sunday. He needed to talk to a few guys about\’c3\’82\’c2\~some Kings Academy stuff, so we invited the\’c3\’82\’c2\~4 families over.\’c3\’82\’c2\~It worked out to about 17 people! I think it worked out pretty well. Kind of a lot of unexpected last minute preparation on Saturday night, although buying pizza and taquitos definitely eased my workload in terms of food preparation! I also made scalloped potatoes, cauliflower deluxe, and brownies and everybody else brought food or drink, so everybody had plenty — with some food left over to prove it. :-)

Actually, perhaps I should talk about the weekend and the first day of the week? Since Sunday is the first day of the week, after all! Rev. Van Dyken reminded us of that last Sunday when I was at my parent’s church in Richland, WA.
