6 Years!

Wow – today was a busy day! Today was our sixth anniversary, and to celebrate Michael took me to see the Street of Dreams in Oregon City. But first we had to take KD to the airport and then continue on up to Vancouver to drop the boys off at Grandma and Grandpas.\par

The Street of Dreams was really fun! There were only 6 houses, but 6 was enough! By the time we were done, my feet were sore and all of the kitchens, bathrooms, master-bedrooms and lavish porch/deck arrangements were starting to blurr together in our minds. We started on the far end and worked our way backward,\’c3\’82\’c2\~the opposite of the normal way, so we saw the really big houses first and ended in the houses that were only an extra 1000 or\’c3\’82\’c2\~so square feet bigger than our house. :-) It was funny, because had we gone into the smaller ones first, they would’ve seemed humongous, but because we started with the really big ones first, the “smaller” ones seemed\’c3\’82\’c2\~almost cramped! I don’t know how many useful “ideas” we came away with – not being home-improvement type people, but it was kind of a window into how the wealthier citizens sometimes live. Over lunch we discussed whether we could see ourselves living in a house like that or not – Michael thought yes, I thought no. :-) Not that it will ever be an option, of course, but while we’re dreaming…\par

After the Street, we went to our house, checked to make sure the kids were doing well at Grandma’s and went back out again to watch The Bourne Ultimatum. I enjoyed it, although I had a headache by the time we left, what with all of the jerky scenes, car chases, fights, interspersed by brief segments of what might be described as dialogue.\par

We went to the Olive Garden for dinner which was nice and extremely filling and rounded out the day by going back up to Vancouver to pick up the boys who had apparently behaved quite well (especially Ezra).\par

It was a delightful anniversary, again, and leaves me thankful, as usual, to be married to my thoughtful, generous husband!\par
