Sick Baby

I have a sick child. Ezra started with diarhea and fever around Wednesday this week. By Friday the fever was long gone, and I was thinking he would be well enough to go to some friends’ house after church on Sunday. Then this morning, while he was ravenously stuffing eggs down his gullet – he threw them all back up again, and started off on another round of diarhea. Ugh. And he took two very long naps, then went to bed at a normal time all tired out, so you know he must be sick! He never threw up again, which makes me wonder if the eggs were just too hard on a slighly upset digestive system of something.\par

The Kaiser nurses had told me to give an infant who’d been throwing up PediaLite, and as Michael was working from home today I took Judah and went and bought the generic form while Ezra was taking a nap. It’s grape flavored, and he’s enthusiastically drunk\’c3\’82\’c2\~ probably 3-5 cups of it today, so that’s good. Since he never threw up again, I’m thinking perhaps it was overreacting to run right out and get it, but he’s been sick all week and I thought he might need the electrolytes and whatever else they pack in there.\par

Fortunately, Judah seems right as rain, so far.\par

So – no church for me and Ezra tomorrow. So sad.
