What a blessed holiday! This morning Judah woke up around 7:00, but we didn’t get up until around 7:30. Ezra wasn’t awake yet, and there was a large surprise in the living room so Michael played with Judah in his room while I made breakfast (raspberry buckle – blueberries were too expensive).\par

Another Christmas related social event! Last night we went to a Christmas party at some friends’ up in Washington. The event could’ve been highly unpleasant, with the prospect of shepherding two crabby, tired boys around all evening keeping them out of things, but it turned out surprisingly well! Ezra had a nap in the car, [...] This morning as I was making pancakes with Judah, he requested that he be able to flip the pancakes with a spatula. I told him that that wasn’t a job for little boys, but that he could do so “when he was older.”\par We went to our annual Christmas program tonight. Judah was slated to perform “Away in a Manger” with the other 2 and 3 year olds in his Sunday school class, and I frequently said that I would be dumbfounded if he actually went up onstage and didn’t bolt. Well, I’m dumbfounded, astounded, and all that! [...] I haven’t written much lately! That’s because we’ve been very busy, yet not on things that I immediately want to write about. I think that’s why, anyway.\par I had my appointment with a dermatologist on Wednesday. I was hoping for a miracle cream or something that would magically relieve my scaly hands within a couple of weeks, but apparently there still is no such thing. I was afraid that she would say “wear gloves, use lotion, and here’s another prescription for cortisone.” [...] Today was one of those good Sundays. We were all well-rested and got out the door without much stress and turmoil. Judah actually wore his choir robe for the Christmas play and sang Away in the Manger with the other little 2 and 3 year olds without any fussing, and Ezra slept through most of [...] |
