“Hoos!”

Playing fooseball with Daddy has become the highlight of Judah’s evening routine lately. As soon as he’s eating dinner, he pushes away from the table and starts pleading, “Play ‘Hoosball!!!” and “come on, Daddy!” Having to wait until his slow mother finishes her dinner is a great trial in his young life.\par

Last night I went downstairs to observe the festivities. Michael has taught Judah where the goalie goes (in the middle, legs down), which direction to kick the ball (still a little sketchy on that one), and not to use Daddy’s rods (something of a source of contention). As I was watching, Judah took a swipe at an easily reachable ball and missed. Thinking perhaps that this was the same as the ball stopping in a location unreachable by either opponent’s players (at which point one yells “Foose,” takes the ball out, and puts it through the hole in the side), he eagerly he reached for the ball – we both exclaimed “Judah! Don’t take the ball out!” Startled Judah realized he’d forgotten something, held the ball up and yelled “Hoose!”\par

He’s only 2 and a half, I suppose.
