At prayer meeting on Sunday someone who had suffered from eczema told me that he had had an unrecognized milk allergy – when he stopped eating/drinking dairy products, his skin had healed and now he just has to cut back if his skin starts to dry and crack. I had considered the possibility of an [...] Yes, the weather was acceptable so we DID go on our 5th Anniversary outing today! Guess what it was? It was a hot-air balloon flight! The flight was provided by Morning Star Hot Air Balloon Company of Ridgefield, WA.\par I bought a sewing machine! It’s a used Viking mechanical machine. I’ve been shopping for one for a while now – mostly by reading about them online. There are so many sewing machines though that it was quite an overwhelming project. Alice emailed me a site with reviews of sewing machines, which had lots of [...] Not tragic, but our anniversary celebration surprise is postponed until next week due to the weather. What about the weather, you may ask?\’c3\’82\’c2\~Too hot? Too cold? Too wet? Too dry? Too humid? Too windy? Too still? I don’t know, and I guess I’ll have to wait ANOTHER\’c3\’82\’c2\~WHOLE WEEK to find out!!! The blogging sphere has been quiet lately, it seems to me. Granted, I only read about 3-4 blogs with any regularity, but those blogs have been quiet. Are we all lethargic with the summer heat? Bored? Too busy to blog? Nothing to write about? I think I fall into the last category – things have [...] I was asked to teach a Women’s Self-Defense Class last Thurdsay at our Women of Hope camp to the assemblage of girls at the camp. Boy was it a lot of fun! I did about a half an hour of lecture (be safe, be cautious, trust your intuation, think ahead, that kind of thing), and [...] I watched an A&E Miniseries called Elizabeth Gaskell’s: Wives and Daughters over this last weekend that I really enjoyed. The auther was a little younger than Jane Austen and wrote it more toward the Civil War Era (although it’s set in England). It’s somewhat like Jane Austen, but a little bit broader in scope, dealing [...] “Mommy” was feeling a little antsy this morning and decided to take the boys on an outing. So we bustled into the car and drove down the hill to a local coffee place. I had a 50% off coupon for a coffee drink so I bought a 16 ounce mocha breve with whipped cream (heart [...] Playing fooseball with Daddy has become the highlight of Judah’s evening routine lately. As soon as he’s eating dinner, he pushes away from the table and starts pleading, “Play ‘Hoosball!!!” and “come on, Daddy!” Having to wait until his slow mother finishes her dinner is a great trial in his young life.\par |
