Yes, all of those years of math finally paid off. Today I made Kung Pao Chicken for a company dinner, and the recipe called for 4 cups of cooked rice. Well, I know that one should use twice as much water as rice but I just couldn’t figure out in my head how much of [...] No, not really. We did go to the King’s Academy Dance Marathon this morning though, and we did dance for an hour and a half without breaks, which was quite enough for us. More importantly, it was quite enough for Ezra who decided that going back to a babysitter after the 10 minute break at [...] We were… surprised… when my in-laws declared their expectation of having another baby a month younger than our firstborn. I rather suspect they were, too.\par Just remember – We all think we’re normal, and we’re all wrong. Ezra’s crawling all over the place now (9 1/2 months)! I was afraid that he, like Judah, never would because he was so interested in walking, but he figured it out! When Judah was little, I always worried, even though I knew that I shouldn’t, because he just wouldn’t crawl, so I was hoping that [...] I just finished watching the TV miniseries based on Frank Herbert’s Dune. I read Dune and several of its sequels when I was a teenager, and I remember finding them fascinating. But watching them on TV I find very depressing. Not because the series wasn’t beautifully done, but because I know how the story is [...] Much to my surprise, Michael signed he and I up as a dance couple for the 12 Hour Dance Marathon that the young people of King’s Academy are putting on as a fund-raiser for their school. (King’s Academy is a grade 8-11 Christian private school that is held at our church – Michael’s sister is [...] I haven’t written for over a week! This is largely because I have been out of town at my parents house, while Michael was in Illinois for a tax training seminar. You can subscribe to the blogs that you read, and sometimes to comments on those blogs, and [...] We went and visited my grandmother today, since we’ll be out of town next week, so she won’t get her Wednesday visit from us, like she usually does. The visit went well and Grandma was very happy to see us as usual. It’s so sad to see her vitality starting to fade.
