We’re back from Family Camp (got back last Saturday, but I didn’t get back to blogging right away)! It was a fun week, but tiring – which is par for the course at Family Camp, but leaves one feeling rather drained for the next few days, especially Sunday. I have pictures that I’ll probably post in the next few days, and in the meantime, I’m trying to get the house in order, put away all of the unpacked stuff, figure out meals that I didn’t plan ahead for, that kind of thing.\par

Good news – Judah did an excellent job of toileting himself during Camp this year, which was an answer to prayer. Michael had a cold going into the week, which he’s still not recovered from, but the boys and I are still feeling pretty well. They’re happy to be home in their familiar environment, although Judah asked “Where Daddy?” almost immediately Monday morning, and was somewhat disappointed to realize that we were back to a normal work week schedule wherein he doesn’t see Daddy until dinner time.\par

Ezra didn\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2t sleep very well for most of the week. After the first couple of nights, he\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2d sleep most of the way through the night without waking up to nurse, but he consistently woke up at 5:30 or 6:00 with a smile on his face and the delighted look of a baby who\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2s woken up to a fresh new day and can\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2t wait to see what will happen \’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’80\’9c an expectation undampened by the less than enthusiastic expressions on his parents\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2 faces. So, we rose and shone early most days at Camp, although toward the end of the week he did sleep in until 7:30 once. On Monday morning, Michael got up and took the kids to Camp while I slept in, and on Tuesday morning, I got up and took them for a walk on the beach while he slept in. Wednesday morning, we both stayed and I started laundry. Thursday morning, I think I took them again, and Friday morning was the glorious morning on which Ezra slept until 7:00 or 7:30. I write this so that when I look back I will remember the rigors of Family Camp with small children \’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’80\’9c although after going with small children for 15-20 years (hopefully) I doubt I\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2ll be able to forget, no matter how much I might want to!\par

Now I need to figure out what my plans are for the next few weeks – well, for the whole summer really. Unfortunately, right now I’m rather absorbed in a novel, which tends to make me unable to think strategically about much of anything.. to think at all really. Frequently my solution is just to read it until it’s done and I can return to the real world. Great work ethic, huh? Anyway, on that encouraging note, I think I’ll sign off!
