Happy Easter to you all! I am writing this at 10:55 at night as I have cookies and milk at my computer. Tomorrow is the great Resurrection Day and I just finished hemming my Easter skirt a few moments ago. I worked on it off and on all day, but had to set it aside this afternoon as I cleaned up the kitchen and made fruit salads for the big Easter church dinner tomorrow and for the after-church gathering at my in-laws. But it’s finally done.. enough. I don’t think I’ll put the hook and eye in tonight, or finish off the insides yet – that can wait ’til another day!\’c3\’82\’c2\~ Perhaps I’ll have Michael take pictures and I can post it here for those of you who might be interested… mostly my mom.
I have a feeling Michael won’t be nearly as impressed with myself as I am.
Yes, I get inordinately proud over even the smallest accomplishments- after all, what is a skirt but a hole in fabric that goes around your waist? But knowing me, I’ll probably try to work it into every conversation that I have tomorrow!

Oh, an update on the potty training – it is going pretty well,\’c3\’82\’c2\~I think. It’s been two weeks and I can’t say Judah is really very reliable, but we have overcome the fear of pooping on the potty and he seems to at least want to remain clean and dry. This afternoon he called me while he was supposed to be taking a nap to tell me “Poopy pants!” I went in to check and he didn’t have a mess, but he said he needed to go. I suspected an attempt to escape from his nap, but he actually went, so I think we are really making progress! I suppose I should mention that in order to help him overcome his fear of BMs in the toilet (and because all of his training pants were in the laundry) I had him running around with no pants at all for a few days this last week. For some reason, that seemed to help – perhaps having pants on made him feel like he had an alternative to the potty? Anyway, enough with the potty training!\par

Michael came home for dinner tonight! It was the first time this week, and Judah was extremely delighted to see his daddy again! He started showing him everything he could think of (he goes around pointing things out, like his teddy bear, chairs, the potty, Ezra..) and talked to him non-stop. He even “read” him “Yankee Doodle,” a boardbook from the library that illustrates the song. We were pretty amazed.. he has the book partially memorized, generally making an indistinct garbled sing-song sort of noise ending with the last word on the page – ” babble-babble-babble-pony!” then “babble-babble-hat!” then “babble, babble, babble, calledit ‘roni!” (he’s especially fond of that part as it mentions one of his favorite meals!) He’s so much fun.

One more note – for those of you who know Isaac and Lydia, I talked to Lydia today and they know where they’re going to be stationed first: Mobile, Alabama! They’re moving there after Isaac graduates on May 10th. They were given a list of positions at specific locations and they got to pick their top 5 (I think).\’c3\’82\’c2\~Mobile was their first choice, so Lydia was pretty happy. Only 3 weeks until she gets to see her husband again!
