Define Productivity!

Actually, that is something I’d like to post on sometime – I’m interested in how our individual definitions of productivity influence our feelings about how we are performing in life. :-) But today I feel fairly productive. The reason being that it is only 1:00 and so far this morning I have\par

Anyway, in the midst of these tasks I was of course feeding, diapering, dressing, training and supervising my two little boys. This afternoon I hope to actually make it out of the house and go shopping, but we’ll see. I also need to pick up the main living areas for the company coming over tomorrow. There are half a dozen other projects I could work on today, too, but I don’t want to get overly ambitious! I’d really love to make myself something new to wear for Easter.. but I’m afraid that with only a week left there really isn’t much chance of that!\par

Yesterday I went and picked up Mom, Dad, and KD at the airport and tomorrow, before church, one of us will go and pick up Ben and Emeth and send them on their way home. My part in the wedding (Elly’s park-and-ride) will then be officially done, although I am looking forward to the reception my parents are planning on having at their house in late April/early May. I’m also looking forward to seeing more pictures. Perhaps my sister-in-law would like help in making a wedding scrapbook? I’ll have to ask her. :-) That’s all for now, I’d better get back to being productive before I run out of steam!\par

Elly, I’d say you’ve had a fantastically productive day. I may have one or two days like that a week, at best. And then I have to recover. I finally figured out that God did not set my engine at high performance levels. I need times, sometimes extended, of enjoying small tasks, reading, blogging, etc. I’ve come to consider them productive, but the results are not always visual. As with most things, striking the balance always seems to be just beyond my grasp. :)

Yes, “the balance” is difficult to find. It seems to always be hiding!
