Judah loves to help feed Ezra:\par Since January! Yes, Michael and I went out last night sans-childlets! Patty Prentice came over around 5:45 to babysit the kids, bless her heart. Judah didn’t scream when he saw her coming, which was an improvement, but I was not able to get away without a “Oh please don’t leave me, don’t you love me” hysterical [...] Lydia and I frequently talked about the things we wanted to make sure that our children knew by the time they left our house. This morning, when I was talking to my Mom, I was telling her that I should write down the things that I’ve learned and am continuing to learn about life in general, [...] Oh, just so y’all know – the potty training thing is going pretty well. Today Judah kind of regressed, but I think it’s because he’s sick – he’s running a fever and took 3 naps today – 2 of them by 12:30 in the morning! But in the last few days, and especially yesterday he was [...] Judah\’c3\’a2\’e2\’82\’ac\’e2\’84\’a2s talking all the time these days. Some of my favorites:\par I was perusing Lauren Winner’s seldom updated blog today and came upon somebody asking her to write a scathing response to this article. So, naturally, I clicked over to that article and read it to see what was so objectionable. Well, as someone who got married at 19, I wasn’t exactly in the target audience, and [...] Happy Easter to you all! I am writing this at 10:55 at night as I have cookies and milk at my computer. Tomorrow is the great Resurrection Day and I just finished hemming my Easter skirt a few moments ago. I worked on it off and on all day, but had to set it aside this afternoon as I cleaned up the kitchen and made fruit salads for the big Easter church dinner tomorrow and for the after-church gathering at my in-laws. But it’s finally done.. enough. I don’t think I’ll put the hook and eye in tonight, or finish off the insides yet – that can wait ’til another day!\’c3\’82\’c2\~ Perhaps I’ll have Michael take pictures and I Continue reading Happy Resurrection Day! This morning we went to Grandma Valerie’s to dye easter eggs with Uncle Zane (for anybody who doesn’t already know my in-laws had a baby a month after my oldest was born, so Judah has an automatic playmate when he goes over to Grandma’s!). We all dyed eggs together, he and Zane played, we had pizza [...] I got the zipper in my skirt! Not the best zipper I’ve ever done… just like last time. But it’s in and I’m going to let it be and take a break from sewing to blog a little!\par Today was a good day, but now I am running down and wondering if I should attempt anything else before I just give up the ghost and go to bed and read for a while. Michael is working late tonigh – just like last night, and the night before, and just like he most likely will [...] Never, never, never go shopping at Winco with two small children – during their nap time [...] Actually, that is something I’d like to post on sometime – I’m interested in how our individual definitions of productivity influence our feelings about how we are performing in life. But today I feel fairly productive. The reason being that it is only 1:00 and so far this morning I have\par \par My friends Mystie and Meghan came to visit Tuesday from their respective homes in Tri-Cities and Olympia, WA. I’ve known Meghan since I was about 11, and I met Mystie at community college when I was 16. We all went to college at the University of Idaho. We got engaged our first year, married in the [...] Just an update on the potty training process… Judah is doing quite well with “tinkling” in the potty, but he’s having a really difficult time with the whole bowel movement thing. He’ll go to the potty without prompting for the first, but has yet to do that at all for the second, and in fact, tonight [...] Tonight we did devotions with Judah, as we frequently do. After Michael reads a chapter or section of the Bible, he generally tries to explain what happened in language Judah can understand and perhaps draw out a moral (generally having something to do with obedience or patience). This evening he read the chapter about Jacob deciding [...] Well, theoretically my brother Ben got married last night around 9:00 p.m. (April 1 in Tokyo). I haven’t heard anything yet, so I’m assuming that the wedding went off as planned. I half-way expect somebody to call and tell me it didn’t happen as an April Fools Joke.
