Questions – without answers!

I have an aweful lot of questions. As I was telling my mom today, life is very complicated. How we even manage to complete a day without hiding our heads under our pillows and crying for it all to “just go away” is beyond me! Not that my life is bad, or anything – just the opposite. But still there are questions. For instance:\par
\par
How much education is too little – and too much?\par
\par
Working is good, but how much is too much – and too little?\par
\par
Saving is good – but how much is obsessive, not trusting God, and how little is irresponsible. (or I suppose some might ask is saving good?)\par
\par
Nutrition and health – at what point does concern for healthy food and exercise become an idol, and when does not caring or eating poorly become poor stewardship of the body?\par
\par
Discipline – when is a parent overly picky or overly lenient?\par
\par
How much time do we spend doing things that don’t need to be done? And how many things that don’t need to be done, truly are valuable to you? It’s not all straight economics, after all – an afternoon spent painting your nails and reading a good book could be soooo good for you, even if you could’ve been cleaning the entire house top to bottom.\par
\par
Cleanliness? Don’t-you-dare-walk-on-my-clean-floor verses wading through the junk?\par
\par
The extremes seem easy to avoid – except that we all can think of various people and families that we personally feel are to the left or right of the perfect middle (wherever that is). Presumably, they think the same of you. So how do you know? Solomon didn’t know either. He said in Ecclesiastics 8:16, 17 – “I can’t figure it all out, even if I did nothing but think 24/7.” (rough paraphrase) Then he gives an answer in 9:7-10 (and following).\par

“Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart: For God has already accepted your works. Let your garments always be white, and let your head lack no oil. (And this part I like) Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of your vain life which He has given you under the sun, all your days of vanity: for that is your portion in life, and in the labor which you perform under the sun. Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going. “

\par
It seems to me that he’s saying – “Yeah, there are a lot of questions, and you’ll never know all the answers, so do your work, enjoy God’s bounty, and please don’t take yourself too seriously.”
