My little brother’s getting married!

Ben, my next younger brother has just affianced a lovely young woman named Emeth – her blog is called Double Dead Frog and is on my sidebar – and I am very happy for both of them. Although I’ve only met her once, I know he is going to be very lucky. I respect my brother more because she respects him enough to marry him – and she’s quite a girl. Check out her blog and you’ll see!\par

Hopefully they’ll post their courtship story online somewhere, sometime. It’s quite interesting, if decidedly short. 24 days, I believe.

Yep. VERY happy right now. Emeth and I would have had a shorter courtship, but she was in Japan. Dashed inconsiderate of her. :)

No doubt LOTS of groundwork was laid before the formal courtship began, lol! Congrats to Ben!

I know what you mean, Elly. It can be hard to shake off early impressions, but watching others form new ones helps to guide us in updating our own.\par

I’m beginning to learn that “Emeth and Ben” is about me, “Ben and Emeth” refers to them. Let the confusion begin.

  • Courtship? What courtship? I think the technical operating term in this case is “pursue” … which is what he asked Papa if he could do. :p\par

I’m looking forward to seeing you soon, Elly!

Ben – our family is extraordinarily good at marrying in such a way as to totally confuse people with our names. I married a Michael – so did my Mom. She forbade Ben to marry a Rachel, but didn’t think to mention that one’s brother-in-law should NOT be a Ben or Sam! I have 2 uncles John, 2 cousins Brian, 2 cousins Rebecca, and Kathryn is a repeated name in the family – Great aunt Dorothy Kathryn, aunt Dorothy Kathryn, cousin Katherine, and sister, Kathryn. Michael and I both have brothers named Samuel – so our sons have THREE uncle Sams. :-) Now if KD could just acquire a Sam for a husband…\par

Emeth – sorry for using the dreaded “C” word. But I was using it in the generic sense, not necessarily referring to any specific model or set of criteria. As in, my parents had a courthship too, even if not in the current controversial sense! :-) See you soon, hopefully!
